PEOPLE ON THE MOVES
For MdM an emergency represents, above all, the disruption of access to care. Our response is put together on the basis of an assessment made by our teams of the consequences of the crisis for the population, in close connection with partners from civil society or the healthcare Institutions.
Our aim: to re-establish access to healthcare when the system has been weakened.
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, MdM has started a program in support of the NHS to support the prevention and care of vulnerable people (homeless, migrants and refugees, those living in informal camps)
Since the beginning of its operations in Italy, MdM operates at the borders in support of the National Health System (NHS) to guarantee access to care for migrants. Over 15,000 people have been touched by our activities since October 2015.

– Activation of medical emergency phone number
– Support to the NHS to implement prevention and surveillance system

– Distribution of hygiene kits
